My name is Cameron and I am a game artist. I specialize in 2D art, focusing mainly on character design, prop art and UI design.
I've been drawing for a long time already and I'm very excited to have found a career path that combines my love for art and video games. I am motivated and always working to improve my art skills.
Please enjoy my portfolio, and feel free to get in touch with any questions!
Video games are a form of art. To me, video games are an escape from reality, a new world for me to explore and to get completely lost in.
Art plays such an important role in this goal; the visuals of a game give it life, together with the narrative and the mechanics used in the gameplay.
When I am creating a game, I want to create something new, whether this "new" is in the art style, the narrative or the mechanics. I want to give the players a refreshing experience, something that they will remember and hopefully tell their friends about.
To me, creating video games is creating art. And it's a beautiful process that I love to be a part of.
I can create visually strong concept art for characters, environments and additional props, working in my own stylized style and its variations.
I can create 2D game assets and design, create, and implement the UI of the game.
I have been taught to work with Unity and can implement my own art in the engine, as well as play around with the assets in the scenes.
I can assist with making design decisions in a game concept, as well as help out with writing out the narrative of the game, both in structural layout and script/dialogue.
I am able to put together levels within the game engine, both in blockout and final layout. I know how to use lighting and post processing to my advantage.
Next to my video game oriented skills, I also do web design! I've created this portfolio website myself. I am fluent in HTML and CSS, and I am willing to learn Javascript.
